Not sure why I read another book about wealthy people. I liked all the parts about Rachel and Nick's relationship and Rachel's fish-out-of-water experience, but all the gossip and hand-wringing about family lines got a little tedious. It was sort of fascinating, but not really as funny as I thought it was claiming to be. I do definitely want to watch the movie now and see all the decadence brought to life.
Eh...it’s not to say that this book wasn’t entertaining, just not my thing. It just felt a little predictable and I got tired of the opulence after a while. It also felt a bit Shakespearian at times where the reader and see both sides of the story but must watch it unfurl for the main characters as one side plots against the other.

Guys, I did something wrong. I watched the movie when I was half way through the book. Why?!! Why did I do this? I was enjoying the book and then I lost all interest in reading the book after I saw the movie. I’ve tried so many times to pick the book back up and read but I always just get bored. Not because it’s not a good book but because I already know what’s going to happen.
So I’m not giving any stars because I can’t even finish it with no thanks to myself. Maybe in a year or so, I’ll come back to it and try again.
