I appreciated the fact that the book shares a culture that I don’t know much about. The author seems to really know what he’s writing about and that’s fantastic.
But I felt that not much was happening during the book. I liked it but I didn’t « looooved » it, you know? Still, not a bad book.

the writing style was fine, occasionally funny. I had high expectations for this book, as an asian, I like that this story had a focus on Asians. but the story wasn't for me, I stopped a few chapters in.
This was such a fun book! The characters are compelling and it’s a fizzy, frothy delight of a read. There are no huge surprises or twists but I was rooting for the main characters and delighted by the descriptions of the extravagance and opulence. A great read! Can’t wait for the next two in the series.

This is like the book equivalent of a TV drama or reality TV and I mean that in a good way. It was such a good summer read because it was light and fun and fast. Is it a great piece of literature? No. But it’s definitely a cute read that I’m glad I read before the movie comes out. Also, I did love learning some different words and foods that i had never heard before. Even if this crazy lavish lifestyle isn’t the norm, there was still a lot of Asian culture that was mixed in that I really enjoyed learning. All of that mixed in with the fun and crazy wedding and the schemes of the mothers. Just a breezy fun read and I’m always happy for diversity in books. I’m certainly looking forward to this movie!! Also this is such a bad picture but it’s all I’ve got since I read this book on my phone through my library’s ebook app.

Super entertaining and an enjoyable, if somewhat surface-level, cast. My biggest complaint is the POV-jumping the book does. Sometimes it's clear whose head you're in, other times it shifted within the same chapter without any indication. Still, I had a lot of fun reading this book and was surprised how quickly it hooked me.
I'm not a fan of Rom-Coms but adored this movie. After reading the book, as expected, it was even better. I couldn't put it down and flew through the whole series.
Super fun. Different from the movie by a lot. So much more detail about all the characters, of course. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
As you can see, this took me forever to finish. Not my style of book.
