Lots of twists and turns that really suck you into the true-crime story. Short chapters makes it a fast read. I liked heather’s character as she finds herself in the middle of kidnappings and muders.

What an absolute treat! The vivid setting of a small town brimming with quirky characters and the intriguing element of tunnels beneath every home immediately pulled me in. While the overarching mystery's direction became clear, the journey itself was captivating, clever, and nicely written. Even with a familiar happy ending (which I’m usually not a big fan of), the storytelling was so engaging that it felt perfectly satisfying, even though it was a bit tangled and messy at the end. A solid 4.5 stars – would definitely recommend!!

This was an in-depth, heart-wrenching read. It captured heartbreak, strength, the fear of the unknown, death, and even a sense of rebirth—all masterfully rolled into one. Jess Lourey crafted a story that serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of truth, even when it hurts. She shows us that even when something appears broken or deformed—by accident or trauma—there is still beauty that can shine through.
This was my first Jess Lourey book, and I’ve already started compiling a list of her other works. I felt completely immersed in the world of Pantown, as if I were one of Heather’s friends (preferably not one of the deceased ones—a small spoiler there!).
A fantastic, gripping read that held my attention from beginning to end.
