As much as I liked this series, this title was my least favorite of the bunch. I didn’t hate it, but I was expecting more. The series was still dynamic and kept me entertained, but I don’t know, I was kind of let down at the same time.
The trial scenes and Blomkvists tenacity were the most interesting parts of the novel. I can’t say that the ending was unexpected. I don’t see how it could have ended any other way. I do believe that the novel ended in such a way that I felt the series could have gone onto another book. I’m slightly saddened that there won’t be more from this author

As a whole, I so thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy. At times it felt clunky and the pacing seemed off, but overall I have a feeling that is a translation issue more than anything- too bad I cannot read Swedish!

Mild spoilers ahead.

Lisbeth Salandar is an amazing character, and I just adore her. One of the things I'm realizing I'm impressed with is Larsson's general ability to write strong women. I was also impressed with his ability to evoke the tiniest bit of empathy in me for Niederman. Don't know if that was purposeful, but there it is.

Truly, though, this was such an enjoyable read and an incredibly satisfying ending to the overall story. I was perhaps a little disappointed the Vangers weren't really mentioned in this last one at all, but I guess they didn't really belong.

It's a good series, sometimes great. But very long and I didn't see the connection with everything that happened in the books. A little far-fetched at times and lots of names and places to remember (Swedish names and places, that made it more difficult to remember). Overall, recommended, but I don't think I'll read them again.

Scanned through the boring parts. Loved the scene where Salander and her father are in the same ward of the hospital and trying to figure out how to get to eachother...wish he'd extended that a bit.

Good read! A great transition from the movie, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Pretty good, bonus star for the ending. And I just love Lisbeth Salander. I’m sad that Larsson passed away so young and I love him for his weird writing style, (translation I’m sure being a factor but still), but I love him even more for writing these books about violence against women and forcing the reader not to look away from acts large and small that get excused and covered up by the solidarity of terrible men. Believe women. Protect women. Hold men accountable. RIP Stieg Larsson
