This books triggered me a lot and actually caused me anxiety. It dealt with a lot of betray and abandonment issues and I wasn’t really prepared for how it would make me feel. Maybe if there had been one character who wasn’t a truly awful and despicable person, I might have found it better. It needed a Cousin Greg (Succession). I could never get past feeling that Jeremy was a manipulator and never telling the truth and ultimately I think believe the letter. Maybe I’m coming at it from the wrong point of view but that’s how I felt. The sex scenes in this are also a bit … weird - even a character says she’s bored reading them! Overall, I’m not sorry for Lowen. She made her bed, and now she has to lie in it.

This book was incredible easy to read and kept me on my toes despite the fact I guessed one of the major plot twists. This book also Low-key gave me anxiety but overall a complex incredible thriller (and this is coming from someone who only really reads fantasy dystopian and romance novels because I don’t like crime mystery or thriller)

This book gets a solid a. It truly had me scared shitless at the end. I'll tell you, my heart was beating faster than it ever had. The story itself was unbelievably creepy, but then you take into account the fact of the ending. I had a million thoughts racing through my head at the end. It ended with me thinking that yes, Verity is actually a psychopath as her letter to Jeremy was too strange to be the truth. Her story just didn't add up. Then there's Lowen, who at first, I loved. She seemed super smart and just like she wasn't easily fazed. I thought I would end up loving her character. BUT, right when she entered the Crawford house, I felt like she had a split personality. She was immediately not working and just began snooping through Verity's stuff. Then she became super attached to married man Jeremy. There was also the fact that she suddenly became scared at the whole situation, which isn't neccesaryily a problem, just something I wasn't expecting from her. Idk. Either way, I loved the story, it just wasn't the best thriller I've ever seen. Don't get me wrong, I loved this book, it met my expectations even, but it just didn't exceed them to get a higher rating. Every character was white, which I guess is exceptable in a thriller with crazy characters, but still incredibly noticable. Overall, I great book. I will truly remember this book.

I found a plot hole I found a plot hole !!!

Besides that this book was “alright” <—- haha #insidejokes #exclusivity

Some parts were captivating but a lot of it was meh. Also, there was an unnecessary amount of sex scenes. Literally so pointless.
