This book...it was an emotional roller coaster in the best way possible. It tugged at my emotions, and sometimes I had to set it down—only to pick it right back up because I couldn't stop reading. I enjoyed "Passenger," but "Wayfarer" is my favorite. Some books are ambitious, and you wonder if it will live up to the promise. This book did. There were parts that dragged slightly and it took me longer to read than I expected, but the story Bracken built was amazing and I simply loved this book.

Honestly gets more of a 2 in my opinion, but the fact that I loved Henry gives it a 3. I liked Passenger but Wayfarer was too long. I got bored around page 350-ish and just skimmed to find out if Henry lived and I read the epilogue and a review with spoilers. It would've been a better read if it wasn't as dragged out, and honestly the whole concept of time travel in it is quite confusing and not explained well enough.

This book was good but I would probably have rated it higher, maybe 3.5 stars ,if I'd have read it straight after the first book. This book is good but I didnt enjoy it that much because I really didnt read it at the right time. I nearly DNF'ed. In terms of reading enjoyement I'd give my time with this book a 2 stars but because it's my fault and not the books I'm giving it a 3 stars.

This duology is really fun. The time travel aspects and the family drama make it such an adventure.
I'm so glad it was a duology and not a dragged out trilogy. So many series tend to add and an extra, unnecessary book just for the sake of it. This worked really well as a duology, with book one setting up the story and book two concluding.

The characters are pretty great.
Etta is an incredibly strong willed and feisty character. Her point of view wasn't my favourite this time. I feel like her chapters did drag at times as most of the action and plot progression was happening with Nicholas.
The Thorns and Henry were alright, I didn't care for them too much. I was convinced they were going to be the bad guy at one point though. I'll get into more of that later.
I really liked Julian though. He was a bit dippy but also a funny, charming guy.
Nicholas is a pure ray of sunshine but also extremely brave. It was great to see him team up with Sophia and also Li Min.
Sophia became one of the best characters as we saw her grown and change so much in this novel. I loved her and Lin Min's relationship as that blossomed.
I also enjoyed Etta and Nicholas being apart in this book so it wasn't romance central. As I said in my review of the first book, their romance happened way too fast so it was nice to take a step back. It was better to see them build up their feelings and then come together than instead of we've just met but I love you.

Anyway, the plot. The plot picks up were we left of last time. It's fun and great to see all the exciting places and different timelines. Many points from the first novel are expanded apart and the boundaries of time travel are much more solidly set. Nonetheless, I wish I would have read this much sooner after the first book. I forgot who people were and what Ironwood was doing and where the astrolabe was. I felt confused even though I did read Alexandra Brackens summary of Passenger, I still felt confused. That's probably my fault though and not the books. One thing in this book that did confuse me though, well gave me the wrong idea, was something the Belladonna said.
*Spoilers from now on*
When the Belladonna revealed about someone of the Hemlock family being after the astrolade for centuries I really thought that was going to be Henry and the Thorns, not a whole other character. Turns out I was wrong. I really thought the tables were gonna turn and The Thorns would actually be the bad guys, with Henry trying to save people and messing the timeline up with the Ironwoods trying to return back to the original war ridden timelines. This would make it seem like the Thorns were good and certainly had good intentions but were actually just playing with time. I would have liked this better and I think thats why I was a little disappointed. In the end I'm not even sure what exactly the purpose of the ancient one was. He seemed a little dull. I also then kept confusing myself because, like I said, I was convinced the Thorns were bad and couldn't understand what Ironwood was doing. That's my fault for getting the wrong end of the stick but it certainly held back my enjoyment.
I also found the plot slow and frustrating at times, like when Li Min said Etta was dead. I rolled my eyes to be honest. At this point I just wanted everything to come together and not be dragged on.
I did really like the ending though with Nicholas using Ironwood to get the Astrolabe and then Rose killing him.
Again not too bothered about the Ancient one, I don't think he was needed. We could have just found out about the astroble giving its powers to Nicholas at the end.
It was really nice that Nicholas got back to Etta at her concert were we first met her. That was sweet, especially with Rose and Henry their too.
The prologue confused me a bit. Why did Etta have to go back to her mum? Did that mean Rose would hide the astrolabe and not destroy it. Would she have given it the ancient one if not? I'm sure most people understood this but I didnt. I have to be honest, my interest had lessened by the end so I wasn't paying as much attention so I'm sure I missed something.

This book is good, this duology is great. I just read this at the wrong time. If I was to revisit this, I would definitely read them back to back. I only didnt enjoy it and was very confused because it was the wrong time. This is a case of it's not the book, it was me.

4.5 stars

I still cannot process what happened. I think I need a break, honestly. IT WAS A ROLLER COASTER RIDE I KID U NOT OH MY LORD WTF DID I JUST FINISHED?

Wayfarer is the sequel of Passenger. I really like the first one. And this second one probably gonna like it slightly more than the first one. I don't say " wow this is gonna be my fav ever " but Wayfarer gave me the plotline that I never expect, my entire life, to have. Honestly, I slightly dislike the plot at first. It is about family issues, and it is pretty much upside down and confusing. I do tabs a lot of infos and stuff to like, remind myself that this happened, that happened. But as we're going deeper into it, it all makes sense, finally. I really hope it does make sense because if not, I wasted my 2 days of May.

I teared up (and cried) reading most of the part of this sequel. Much much emotional and heartwarming and SAD ESPECIALLY. I DON'T EXPECT THIS GONNA BE SO SAD BUT IT GIVES YOU HOPE SOMEHOW. You keep " qkxvcvnamdks don't die boy, issokay boy I love you boy " and by boy, I mean Nicholas Carter. How is he so precious? Who makes him so precious? I swear if he come alive, I will buy him a land. Thats it.

The ending, i mean the final fight, battle whatever u call it. Amazingly epic. That one, is one of the best final battle I ever read. I tell ya it is no joke. I love how everything coming together and it settled there and walaaaa BOOM ^O^

THEY SPEND 95% OF THIS BOOK APART AND MY HEART HANDLED IT! like, I had to keep reminding myself that at some point they would definitely come together but booooooy what a ride they go through.
But it was marvelous and I loved meeting Henry and his relationship with Etta. It was so beautiful ❤️
Sure, I think there were two/three loose ends at the end but it was worth a 4,5 ⭐️

"Podróżniczka" okazała się być dobrą książką, ale bez większego "wow". Chwilami nie mogłam skupić się na fabule, która równocześnie nie zaciekawiła mnie na tyle, aby mieć problem z oderwaniem się od historii. Bohaterowie są w porządku, ale nie wyróżniają się niczym szczególnym. Myślę, że "Podróżniczka" to taka książka, którą przeczytałam raz i raczej już do niej nie w.rócę

L'histoire d'amour est beaucoup trop cringy.
