Twilight was the ACOTAR of the 2000s. A teeny romance drama embellished by paranormal paramours.

I loved the mysterious, gloomy atmosphere and Bella’s snarky narration. I hated to love the weird unhealthy EdwardxBella relationship. I got a little bored with the vamp stuff, minus Alice, love you Alice.

I don’t feel compelled to read the other books in the series, but I AM compelled to read Midnight Sun. What is going on in that fucked up camp brain of yours, Edward?

boy oh boy that was probably my first and only reread of twilight since middle school and I am not sure why i liked it so much back then LOL

so 70% of this book is boring high school yearning and mostly bella thinking about how edward looks like a greek god, it did pick up towards the end with james

edward is a gaslighting king, i think middle school me just pretended she couldn't see that

overall, I'm glad it's over and I'm never doing that again

Edward is a narcissistic, egomaniacal, pedophile.
Bella emotionally manipulates everyone around her.
The only positive experience this book provided was knowing that I’ll never have to wonder if I was missing out on anything ever again.

For a YA novel, twilight is pretty well written compared to the bookTok books being published today. The writing is almost poetic and a lovely picture of Forks has been painted. I really felt as if I was in Bella’s head while reading.
Bella started getting on my nerves midway. I understand that being “a caretaker” for her mum has made her mature a lot faster than her peers, but I think she’s just pushed all that energy into being with Edward. She’s obsessed - right from the start! And the girl’s 18, she’s not had a single boyfriend - it’s super obvious WHy she’s this obsessed with him. Why was she talking about not being able to live without him etc!! It was frustrating
Edward was OLD, the age gap was SO obvious and the power dynamic could easily be seen. But oh well.
