Again, this was fun to read, and more emotional than I thought it would be. I liked Rage but felt like we did not get to see his side as much as I would have wished. Also, I hope we get to see more glimpses of Marissa and Butch’s story in the next few books.

Rhage and Mary have my entire heart. I love this couple so much, even when they both refused to communicate their issues. The softness they hold for one another is just beautiful to me.

Plot wise, I’m happy that we met John and learned more of Zsadist’s backstory. I’m scared of where we’re going next because I’ve read the next few books already, and I’m not sure if my heart can handle it. But I love having the multiple POVs from both the brothers and the lessers.

2.5/5. I cannot rate these books higher until the author starts using more descriptive language. Like just say p*ssy or cl*t , please. I also would’ve loved a longer scene between Mary and the beast, but that’s a personal thing lol.

Spoiler off-screen sexual assault/depictions

Is most of my rating from the nostalgia I feel? Yes, yes it is. Honestly, I missed a lot of things that now as an adult made me take a moment to process.
Spoiler The scenes where Mr. X mentions O's sexual assault and John Matthew recalling his sexual assault experience.
Not to mention, the idea of manhood the Brotherhood has. I do not think it is wrong, but I do not necessarily agree with everything they say or do. Like the subtle slut-shaming, especially when Mary did it to Layla. Sure, she was jealous, but there was no reason for it.

However, I also have to remember the time it was written in and times are a lot different now then they were back then. It is a nice feeling going back re-reading this series after I have caught up on their lives now and seeing how far all of them have come. Also, the vague idea of knowing what is coming for them all too.

The biggest thing that I will always love about this series is the huge found family trope. The Brotherhood and their shellans are family. I have always loved it and I always will.
