the premise of the good was there but, unfortunately, the execution wasn’t. 

the beginning was good, i liked the dual timelines and our main characters, but, as the time went on, i felt disconnected to the story. the narration, the world-building, and the character development didn’t feel cohesive to me and that’s where this book lost me.
