I loveddd this book!!! The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because the ending did not feel right, it was missing something. Other then that it was a very good book.

This was an excellent follow-up to “The Giver,” and in many ways is what I was hoping out of the first book. There are flaws and rushed developments, but the characters are interesting and the story is worth reading.
This was cute but was a strange follow up from the first. It had very little to do with the characters in the giver. Apparently it’s the same time period but different characters and a whole new society. It was cute! It wasn’t what I expected and I had to forget about the first to enjoy this one but on its own it was really cute. I loved the primitive society and the little bits of magic.

This was so boring lol it does not hit like the first one. At all. Buuuuuut it’s important for continuing the story and the plot is vaguely interesting + good world building and silly characters 🤷🏻♀️

Saying this is a series is miss leading. Other then the overall theme of the book, it is unrelated to the Giver.
That aside, it kept me mildly entertained. There was not enough to keep me engaged. Very slow paced. Hardly anything building up to a Climax. And almost no Climax. Just very one pace.
