Read this again this week. I didn't like it as much as I like The Giver. Part of me connected to Kira, to an extent. Except that I am not a passive person like she is. Though I can understand the feeling of being different to what "normal" walking society is but I have never felt the aggression she had to go through. The ending doesn't satisfy me but over all I still enjoyed this book.

This was the weakest of the series. We are introduced to Kira with an embroidery, weaving ability that has to gather the color blue for a singers robe. This book is okay and is required reading to understand the later books, but man was I let down after reading the Giver. 

Jonas is now Leader and that is all that is said about him.  Kira's decision to not heal her leg made me lose more interest in the character.
