i want more. hope the rest of the series will tie together books one and two?
Like book one, the ending was not what I expected, and I suspect book three, like book two, will not give me the previous ending I sought. The end lacked a climax. No conflict from opposing characters, just secrets uncovered and an unspecified change seemed to be made. Way too open ended. Still, it was an interesting world with fully formed characters and a good read.

Slow burn, snoozefest, predictable, with an anticlimactic ending. I won't be reading the 3rd and 4th book.
It's nice, but yeah, it was pretty predictable. Unlike some dystopian novels though, this one gives a wee bit of hope that the very essence of what makes us human will live on.

Lois Lowry is killing me with these books of societies full of terrible humans where people's stories remain unsatisfyingly unresolved. I mean, I guess that's how the world really is, but I thought I was reading to escape that ... ?
