Kennedy Ryan is who I read when I know I was to be hit right in the feels. That's exactly what I got from reading LONG SHOT. I had hoped to read this book when it was first released back in the spring, but life happened and I never got around to it. With the release of [b:BLOCK SHOT|39679276|Block Shot (Hoops, #2)|Kennedy Ryan|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1534770058s/39679276.jpg|61278194] right around the corner, I decided it was time. As usually Kennedy delivered a powerful and emotional story and message. They are full of strength and humility, some of the best writing I've ever read. I can't wait to see what is to come for the rest of the characters in this series and world. I highly recommend this book (and all of Kennedy Ryan's books).

TRIGGER WARNING:
SpoilerThis book includes some pretty intense and descriptive abuse and rape scenes. Although these can be very hard to read at times, the end is worth the journey.

This was such an emotional read. I went in blind to this story without checking for any trigger warning which is why I almost dnf the book. I love how Kennedy Ryan writes her story and characters, I couldn’t stop listening to the audiobook. The ending was perfect and everyone got exactly what they deserved.

I wanted to love this series but it’s Meh. I think it was well written but I was not in love with Iris character. In retrospect I guess it makes perfect sense with how a battered woman’s interactions world react , but I think they need to be better triggers warnings. I had to go back to the beginning of the book to make sure I was reading properly. This is definitely a “Don’t judge a book by the cover” situation. I was expecting a beautiful love story but it was 70% abusive boyfriend 30% love story. And I don’t feel the love was as impactful as the abuse was.
