Just could not get into it. First few chapters were boring.
“There is no such thing as bad people. We’re all just people who sometimes do bad things.”
Sooo cliché but somehow highly entertaining (at least in the beginning)? The writing is pitiful, but it's hard to let go? I'm so confused by this experience!
I like the boldness of developing a character that's ambivalent & confused & in love. This is not the romantization of DV. This is real life.

Book with a strong message.
Long time I wanted a different outcome, but I with this ending Colleen Hoover made it really clear that (generational) abuse has to end.

One of my new favorite books. Beautifully written. Heartbreaking, sad, and powerful. I absolutely loved this book and it definitely kept my interest!
i don't wanna say too much, but this is a really powerful story and it's not what most people will be expecting. the singular first-person narrative gives it power, as we see everything through lily's eyes.
