Two best friends on a hiking trip before they go their separate ways for college, what could go wrong? I raced through this book to find out what was happening, as the author spent a good deal of time setting up their friendship. This really reminded me of the movie The Descent, as it's as much a story about a changing friendship as it is about the dangers two young women are facing in the woods alone. Still, a fun read that I could definitely see as a tense eighty-minute film in my mind's eye.
This book was so unexpected. The gore and the mystery. Some if the plots felt kind of just thrown in there. But it was pretty good overall
flew through this audiobook mostly because i absolutely couldn't stand the main characters & wanted to get it over with. probably should have put it down when it took several pages for them to even start a camp fire but kind of worth sticking around for the bat shit ending.

Like a cross between Stephen King's The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Campfire by Shawn Sarles, and the Wrong Turn movies, this is a short (only about 200 pages or so) thriller that hits the pulpy spot if not the heights of horror excellence.
This book was a slow starter. I found myself yelling at the main characters almost straight from the first start of the "camping" trip.
