I did not like this book at all. For some reason, it came up on multiple lists for "creature" books. What creature were they talking about? I was in the mood for a creature feature. Not murderous rapist hillbillies. Even ignoring this, the story was unbelievable. A character has a messed up leg and a blown off hand, but manages to make it through the woods all night??? I don't think so. Not worth a read and I wouldn't suggest it to anyone.

My true rating is 4.5 stars - I really enjoyed the second half of the book. The build-up to the action was kind of slow and made it slightly hard for me to get consumed by the story. I wish everything happened a little bit sooner and there was more about what was happening to the girls during the action. I will say I was pleasantly surprised by some of the events that happen. It does get pretty dark in some parts which may be a trigger warning for future readers. Otherwise I recommend this!

This book was not what I was expecting. It is entirely my fault for not really going into reviews and such before starting to read. It took a while to pick up the pace, and when we finally got there, there was only 50 or so pages left, making the ending seem a little rushed. I also hate to say that the ending was predictable even though I was hoping for it to not go that way. It was written in a nice, simple style though, easy to get through in a few hours and keep me hooked long enough to actually finish it.
