Ugh. I can’t think of two people less equipped for a three day backpacking trip through unfamiliar woods than the main characters in this book. And I refuse to believe that the backpacking brother of one of the characters would EVER agree to let his sister and her friend go out into the woods ALONE despite knowing they’ve never been hiking let alone back country camping. They allow their water supply dwindle and then decide they don’t need to refill until morning. THEY DONT EVEN KNOW HOW TO MAKE A S’MORE.
Also this book could not decide what it wanted to be. First it was a slow-paced thriller where tension built between two people who have no business going out into the back country. And then it turns into a high-octane thriller where both of these girls are somehow able to scrabble through the woods alone while pursued by cartoonish 2-D villains and dealing with incredibly traumatic and devastating injuries.

If I could give this book negative stars I would. What a massive waste of time.
I hated both of them and wanted them both to die.

Worst book of the year, do not read!!! It started off being just boring. The first 50% is just them losf in a forest. Then the plot starts, and there is such fucked up shit that happens for no reason. one of them falls into a hole and breaks her foot, the other one goes to get help, and a man fucking masturbates watching the girl in the hole🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 literally whag the fuck was the point of that???? So fuckin weird. And disgusting. Fucking ew. I'm disgusted by the author. This should not be a YA book.
Boring, stupid, weird, creepy and disgusting plot.
So far, the worst book I've ever read.

Graphic: Sexual violence
Honestly I wanted to like this, I really did. I absolutely love her other books but her horror series that she’s got here is just not it. It was a quick read but it was pretty predictable and honestly ended quite quickly and abruptly. Some of the things the characters were able to do after being injured just didn’t make sense.
I loved There's Someone Inside Your House. It started out slow and annoying but it ended up being GREAT. So, I decided to try this one. I didn't love it. The teenage angst was strong. The girls get mad at each other SUUUUUUUUUPER easily and while I realize they're teenagers, they've been best friends for 4 years and one of them will be leaving for college soon. I think it would take a little more for them to get mad at each other. Once the action starts it takes place in typical Stephanie Perkins style. Gory, painful, and quick. I feel like it was a little bit quicker than usual though. Not bad, but not my favorite read.
