AUDIOBOOK: Entertaining thriller. Fast read. Went in a direction that I didn’t really expect, but that’s not a bad thing. Certainly not the most original or believable story I’ve read but it served its purpose so I’m not complaining.
A very short read that I finished in a few hours. The idea was intriguing but I could never latch onto the concept completely. Nothing actually happened until well over the halfway mark but then when the action hits, it hits. Up until that point I enjoyed the nature descriptions, but I wasn't fond of Josie or Neena. They claimed to be best friends but their thought process and attitudes said otherwise. They were very ill-prepared for hiking and camping and that on top of their bickering was frustrating to read through. I definitely enjoyed the final 50% instead of the first portion. Meh. Nothing thrilling or suspenseful happened until 55% way through the book. I'm not even kidding I watched. Some of the set up was necessary but most of it wasn't.

I really like this authors YA romance, but I've found I really hate her YA suspense. There was not one positive I can find about this book, except that it ended.

Finally took this off the tbr and I enjoyed it! The atmosphere really nailed the sense of dread, and the tension built nicely in a way that will stick with you anytime you hit the woods. It did slow down a bit in the middle, but picked back up. It’s a good, straightforward horror read—nothing too crazy mind you, but still effective. The horror is very real, and yes, I support animal rights (and their wrongs). Spoilerish- Reminded me of the movie wrong turn, which is high praise.
