Dangerous Breed

Onley James

I absolutely loved preacher and Memphis. They are so perfect together. I honestly have enjoyed every book I've read so far from onley James, not one has disappointed me.

I know when I a read a book by Onley James it will be raw, gritty and addicting. I also know from the highs to the lows, my heart will take a beating but I wouldn’t change a thing. “All of it had been worth it, every scar, every bruise, just for this. Just for them.” I love Memphis. His bravery, courage, heart, it all blew me away. He’s an incredible person and I’m so happy Preacher helped him see how beautiful a person he truly is. I did want to put Memphis and his brother Knox in bubble wrap and protect them but as that’s not possible and even more important since they have the love of Preacher and some very good *dangerous* friends, I know they’re in excellent hands. Engrossing, scorching and uplifting, I want more of this series and these amazing men.

I enjoyed this much more than book 1! Preacher and Memphis are the perfect MCs. This is exactly what I love to read in MM and why I love Onley James. I love her psychopaths but even more than that I love the men of Elite Protection and this felt like an extension of that series.

In book 1 I was happy to see it was about Webster, who was a member of Elite Protection. But I didn’t like that it took place almost completely in prison. I was glad to find that this one was not. I didn’t know that Preacher and Javier were almost done their time as well.

So they are both out of prison now and working with Cyrus rescuing dogs. When Preacher finds a boy chained up with some dogs they were rescuing from a fighting ring, they find and contact the boys older brother to come and get him. But they get swept up in the danger of the gang. And of course Preacher felt instantly drawn to the boys older brother, Memphis, and wants to protect them himself. This felt very much like Elite Protection and Jackson and Lincoln played a fairly big role as well as several other familiar characters, and Robby’s farm, where the epilogue takes place. There is a bit of an age gap in this one. Preacher is 42 and Memphis is 26. And there is breeding kink which was

Book safety, content warnings, and tropes down below.

There would never be anybody who Memphis could just reach for, who wouldn’t hesitate to reach back.

I was looking for a book with breeding kink (for reasons), so it was a perfect excuse to reread this book. I love a prickly broken boy with an older stoic, protective man who loves him, and this book is a really good case of exactly that situation. Preacher has lived more of his life in prison than out of it, so he’s a little rough around the edges, but he’s also super sweet and caring.

Kissing Memphis was like the first breath of air he’d taken as a free man.

Memphis is like an angry little gremlin who’d rather attack first and apologize later (if ever), which is understandable with the level of trauma from his past. I love him so much.

It’s an uncomplicated story and the suspense hits just right. I know this series doesn’t get nearly as much attention as the Necessary Evils series does, but I definitely recommend this if you enjoy Onley James.

“Do you know what it’s like to be hated? Not for anything you did, but just for the very fact that you exist at all?”

“You think I couldn’t get in my truck, hit a bar, and go home with somebody if I was just looking to get off? I want you. You. Three days together and you’ve got me twisted inside out. Just admit you want me back. Admit that you’re not as undesirable as you think you are.”

When Preacher released him, he gently slapped Memphis on the ass, and a shiver of excitement ran through him. Who knew he liked a man who slapped him on the ass and bossed him around?

“Like what?” Preacher grinned. “Like drag you into the shower, get you nice and squeaky clean before laying you out on that bed right there and making you come harder than you ever have before with just my tongue and my fingers.” He could feel Memphis breathing heavily, rapt. “Then I’ll take all that cum and feed it into your tight little hole and fuck you nice and slow until I fill you up with my own load.”

“Fuck, you’re so wet for me, so full. I could do this all day. Just keep you plugged up until it’s time for me to breed you over and over again.”

Memphis broke my heart, but I love Preacher for him. So good.

I received an ARC from GRR and this is my honest review.

Loved this more than book 1!

Why read this book...

_Memphis: Damaged cute twinky MC starved for touch and love. #IWannaBeDirty

_Preacher: big bad ex-con who goes all gooey and sweet for Memphis. #MeltForYou

_Close proximity trope: the men go on the run from some uber bad guys and grow closer and closer as the time passes. #ComeCloser

_Romance, cute moments and #AllTheFeels

_Steam-o-meter: High Steam! #F&ckYeah

_Angst-o-meter: low-ish angst (none between the MCs) #HappyWithYou

_HEA: Starts with some filthy hot sex and ends with Sappy sweetness #AllAcrossTheScale

4.5⭐️ Loved everything about this book! It was fast-paced, exciting, sweet, and steaming hot.

4.5* of great reading

This second book is as good, action packed and hot as the first in the series. I recommend reading the books in order but it can be read as a standalone. I loved how these two men battered and bruised by life find love. I look forward to the next story.
