We’re only afraid of the things that mean the most to us.

So like the wedding scene was real quick and the deals for that it was a rich wedding was off. Like for Stella, the main girl, to crash the party it came off like she was crashing any wedding that just happened to be with this billionaire there (could at least add more billionaires to talk to or celebrities there but nothing or a unique wedding thing that the rich will have). And there is a-lot of focus on Stella and her career as a perfume developer and she wants to go main stream with it. I get it however, she left her job(at L'Oreal) with every little saving to start and the business partner that she had drop her like a hot cakes. Me all reading this book was why ain't she on Esty, farmers markets, conversations (also no website, no paypal, a somewhat business plan etc.) but she is talented and she gives product away for free ( and rent is due which mention but never again)Unfortunately this book failed to deliver the major thing that it was supposed to be THE FUCKING ROMANCE. I didn't feel the chemistry , sparks & connection . It was all insta-love . I mostly don't like romances where main characters already love/like each other and are still not couple because of some drama or worse because of some stupid reason. Sex scenes were ok.

4.25 - Love the characters and story. Everything felt genuine and realistic. I really enjoyed The Invitation, especially since Contemporary is not my usual genre. This wasn't a 5 star for me due to the last quarter of the book had a bit more tell and not enough show, the friendships barely had page time after the relationship started, I figured out the twist really early on and I had questions that didn't get answered. All of that is truly personal preference and not about the writing, which I enjoyed and was completely immersed into. I will definitely read more from Vi Keeland when I want something different.

This is a must read for Contemporary Romance lovers.
