There is a Chinese proverb that says: ‘It is more profitable to raise geese than daughters.’ But geese, like daughters, know the obligation to return home.Geese one hundred percent do not know that. And that's coming from someone who has spent a higher-than-average amount of time dealing with geese.
(Lots of good imagery, to say nothing of the highly personal and emotional meaning.)

This collection houses a range of forms and styles, which I really enjoyed. Poems about childhood, nature, the city, all somehow fit together to create something of a melancholic longing, a nostalgia that isn’t fully based in happiness. At least, for me. The prosaic poems are beautifully eloquent, they make me want to write page after page of structured thought.
