3.75* So, I guessed the ending of this book within probably the first 50 pages. While I’m delighted to be right, I wish I wouldn’t have had to read through 527 pages to find that out. A lot of the plot of this book seemed unnecessary and I found myself bored while reading. It took me weeks to get through this because i was honestly so bored. I really was excited to see Nina again, but I found my self unable to care much about her story line. I also did not get as much Nikolai in this book as I wanted, which seems absurd since it is his book. But between all the shifting view points from different characters I felt that it was hard to flesh anyone out. The only character I feel that I learned anything new about, that showed development and kept my interest, was Zoya. All of this said, I did end up enjoying the ending and it has me excited to see what the second book will bring.
