What does it mean to 'be kind?'
A child reflects on exactly what she should do and say
after her mother sends her off to school with the admonition:
'be kind.'

This utterly charming, moving book follows her as she puzzles out
what all is involved in being kind. Sometimes, being kind is difficult.
Sometimes, it isn't. How that kindness can ripple out and back again
helps any child imagine the benefit to the world of
'being kind.'

This is a superb book for sending a child off for their first day at school, or second, or third, or any day, really. Why not create a conversation with a child about how exactly does one go about, 'being kind?'

This book will create reflection in a child.
It illustrates the International Baccalaureate learner profile of reflective.

Absolutely wonderful. I love the concrete examples of little things we can do to be kind.

A fine idea but overly preachy. This could have used some editing. I would rather have seen more of who the people in the story were and less lists of ways to be kind. Individual pages are good but it just tried a bit too hard. 3.5 of 5.

This bestselling book encourages children to perform small acts of kindness. The text is sweet and provides simple suggestions, with illustrations depicting a diverse array of people from different walks of life. Caregivers can use this book to teach children about the value of kindness.

Iya ya, menjadi baik itu gampang sebenarnya. Hal-hal kecil yang yang baik bisa lama-lama berdampak besar untuk seseorang.

I love this book and think it is so important to emphasize that kindness starts with small things and can grow.

A thoughtful, introspective look at what it means to be kind and empathetic toward others, from the viewpoint of a child. A must-share for every classroom.
ETA: I shared with students, and many of their comments related to an appreciation that the book is concrete in sharing specific little things they can do to show kindness. The little gestures matter a lot. Another 4th grader said, "it's inspiring"
