im not even like that obsessed with it but i guess im having a "i feel seen" moment. fellow Baltimorean attempted New Yorker had to get tf out of New York and wind up back in Baltimore type beat. I also really like his reflections on the intersections of Blackness, the LGBTQ community, and faith. Which is something I've always been looking for in a way I think!

Funny! Some great laugh out loud moments and inspiring wisdom around love, family, religion. I really like RET’s perspective and humor. Like his second book a bit more, but really enjoyed this one.

I’ve never laughed out loud this many times while reading a book. This is equal parts hilarious and heartfelt and I felt, many times, that I identified with his upbringing in church and experiences related to it. READ THIS.

I loved everything about this listening experience! Thomas' reflections on his life were so delightful and relatable, despite the many differences in our experiences. I think I experienced the entire range of human emotion listening to this book and I'm grateful.

highly recommend the audiobook! i love this guy's sense of humor so much. it touches upon a lot of topics involving being Black, gay, and religious in america. it brought me to tears a couple times & made me laugh out loud uncontrollably many more times all throughout the memoir. this was my first 5 star read in MONTHS, and I'm so happy I decided to pick it up.

Probably my favorite book I’ve read this year. So funny, sweet, heart warming, thought provoking… I cried at one point. This book makes my heart happy
