I'm not sure why this series is so popular. The story is somewhat intriguing but not exceptional. I wouldn't consider it surprising or twisty. The reader is aware of what's going on most of the time and it doesn't take the protagonists very long to figure it out, either. The content in this entry is also pretty disturbing because of the school shooting. I would recommend skipping this one.

Mr. Swanson, one of my favorite authors of all time, loses only the tiniest mote of suspense between book one and book two. The Kind Worth Saving is another brilliant foray into the lives of Henry and Lily, one I truly hope will not be the last.
4 stars rounded a little down. I really enjoyed The Kind Worth Killing, although I did want a bigger bang at the end. I think I just had bigger expectations for this book. I expected more crazy twists and more complicated plot lines weaved together like in the first book. I just feel like most of this book just kept repeating the same information but from multiple people's perspectives when they found out the same information. There was one big reveal that I never saw coming, but again the end was just kind of flat for me. I still tore through the whole book and read it very quickly because I enjoy Peter Swanson's writing style, and I will continue to read his books.
If you liked the kind worth killing you’ll enjoy this. They’re similar in form I’d say. I enjoyed both. They are different. So not a carbon copy, don’t worry. I liked the differing points of view and seeing how everything played out.
Also this could be read as a stand alone but i really think it’s best to read the first. It does play a role and i think it just benefits. The characters reappear and you won’t get the full scope.
What i like about this is you get inside the minds of the disturbed. The killers POV and sometimes you kinda feel like.. huh they kinda make sense tho? Like can i blame them? And sometimes you’re like damn that’s messed up. Hhaa
This is the kind worth reading in my opinion.

I really like what he's doing here with the series. There was a strange little plot hole near the end that made me almost downgrade it, but I still think four stars is warranted. These are really interesting characters.
