A mostly entertaining book with quite a lot of dark topics. Shame about the
child orgy scene

I actually got probably about halfway through this book, until I heard that there’s a gangbang involving the children somewhere in it and I was done. With this book AND stephen king. What kind of freak writes something like that????

This is the first Stephen King I read. Obv, he would be a talented writer so I was really immersed and interested in the story from the beginning. All the characters were well built and each had a real impact on the story that was well shown. I haven't read too many 500+ books, but I can imagine the pace can be hard to maintain but King did a good job at it. There only a few parts which lost my interest but overall it was there. The storyline itself was good and had a lot to offer.
It can be triggering in severely categories and I felt I had to take take a breather at one point.

This book is crazy good. The way time is used as a narrarive tool is masterful and the titular villain is just amazing. The characters, oh I love them so much. It's really weird, in good ways and bad: some chapters felt like Stephen King was on acid while writing them in the best way possible, but it was very 'she breasted boobily' at times. There are few scenes that are quite heavy and disturbing though.
Mike's racial torment made me understand more why slurs can be so triggering. Also the sewer scene was so unnecessary and strange but at least it was only like four pages.
