3.5 stars,, i like ava n oakley more but I think her writing here is a loooot better tyler gives quality time / physical touch als

Reallllly liked Gracie and Tyler’s story! I really like how this series has smaller plot points that are still well written while focusing on the couple and their development rather than other plot conflicts.

SYNOPSIS:

Gracie has been pining after her brothers best friend since she was 16. On a week vacation in Mexico when she was 18, she finally wore Tyler down enough and they hooked up. Gracie was hoping that now that they’ve hooked up and started talking in depth sometimes, they can be more than friends back home and in public. Tyler wishes to keep it secret though. They stay away from each other for a year, but start hooking up in secret again. They’re found out by Gracie’s brother Oakley, and he’s so angry about it because he just wanted them to be honest instead of hiding it from him. They’re finally open about it and Tyler finally gives in to actually be in a relationship, regardless of his family issues. Throughout the book, his family gives him issues and Gracie’s best friend tries to come between her and Tyler. Gracie kicks her to the curb and they survive that together. Gracie’s mom also ends up passing away during this book, and Tyler is there to help her through that. The epilogue shows them engaged and thinking about children, since Oakley and Ava just had their first son.

Brother's best friend is not a trope I love for a number of reasons but as a Hannah Cowan stan, I felt the need to make sure I have read all her books so I went back and read Tyler and Gracie's story. This is one of the better BBF's stories I have read, the timeline actually was preferable to me like how everything played out with their relationship so props for that. I love these characters and this universe so it was not a hardship to read however it's hard after reading Vital Blindside and Her Greatest Mistake to give this a solid four when I absolutely fell in love with those two books. Also Gracie is such a queen, the way she took none of Tyler's shit, standing ovation girl

Did this on audio. It was definitely not my favorite of hers so far. There was a lot of back and forth and the third act conflict was super annoying.
