I read this one more than once because there was so much going on I was afraid I'd missed things. I did! However, I think that's down to the authors cutting word count to fit the genre. That said, it was actually excellent. The second time through, it went from about 3.5 stars for me to 5. There was so much character development layered in, but the authors never went so deep with the characters or their interiority that it felt intense. It stayed cozy! And I'm the end, I loved it. I'm buying it on audible to replay when I need a cozy mystery that I've read before but that doesn't get boring.

A slow start for me. The chapters move between the 3 main characters, but I had to remind myself constantly which character traits went with which name. The "Scottish accent" seemed a bit much. Decent mystery with a rough backstory.

I really enjoyed this other than there was something off putting about the subject matter and how lighthearted it was.

Very funny satire on the murder mystery genre, with some pretty heavy themes (SA) present. It is outlandish and over the top in the best way. I listened to the audiobook and for the most part was easy to distinguish the characters voices, but sometimes Kat and Emma sounded very similar.
