4.75/5 "My heart. I know it's quick, but it's all yours. And well, maybe it's not that fast because it's been yours for a long time. You just didn't know it." TRIPP HOLLIS!!! This man became a new standard! He never once gave up on Magnolia, no matter how much she pushed him away when she found out the baby was Travis'. Tripp stayed and fought for her and just ugh!!!!

LET me tell you. At first I was like what’s happening and then I was like ITS ALL HAPPENIN. This was very very good. Will be doing the next book. Tripp ily

The second of the Sugarland Creek series was full of plot twists, sassy characters, and a man completely & utterly in love!

I will say some of the dialogue between the FMC & MMC in this one was a bit cringey but I did like the coupling!

I did not expect the last 25%ish to pan out the way it did. That’s where it got a bit disjointed and unrealistic to me.

Overall it was an easy, entertaining read that I got through in a few hours. I will be reading the next one soon!

This was my first book by Brooke Montgomery and I am glad I finally decided to start this series. I want to start by saying, I did skip the first in the series because I am not a fan of the "my ex-boyfriend's dad" trope.

Magnolia and Tripp have both had feelings for one another for years. Tripp never acted on them because 1. he did not want to be a stop between her next encounter with her on & off boyfriend and 2. because she's his sister's best friend and has been a huge part of their family for over half of their lives. Magnolia for a long time thought he was not interested, then she kind of figured out he was but never understood why he never wanted to act on his feelings despite her relentless flirting.

Now years later Tripp is finally ready to take the plunge and give them a shot. This is when Magnolia finds out she is pregnant with her ex-boyfriend's baby and she feels like she just lost her shot with the one man she's ever really had feelings for.

I really enjoyed both characters and their relationship felt natural. I loved the banter between the main characters and the side characters. I was excited to move forward with the rest of the stories in this series.

This book made me so happy! I’d been counting down the days for Magnolia and Tripp’s love story, and it was everything I hoped for (and more!).

Magnolia is such a firecracker — “I’m a g**d*mn catch. I shouldn’t have to convince a man to be with me.” And instead of being scared off by her sass, Tripp adores her for it.

It was so refreshing to see the MMC fight for the FMC instead of walking away when things got hard — more of this, please! And Tripp loving that sweet baby as his own, even though they aren’t related by blood? My heart melted.

Now I’m officially counting down to Landen’s book!
