I flew through this novel in three days, but I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. Massive trigger warning for domestic abuse and alcohol abuse. I can handle some pretty dark stuff, but I found this one to be a bit gratuitous at times. The excessive infidelity bothered me.

With that being said, if you enjoy an immediately unreliable narrator, morally questionable characters, and lots of sarcasm - which I do - then you might pick this one up. I found the podcast aspect interesting and reminiscent of Lisa Jewell's None of This is True, although I enjoyed Jewell's novel much more. The whodunit in this one was fairly predictable, which is always disappointing for a thriller.

My favorite character was Beverly, the protagonist Lucy's grandmother. She was hilarious, and I thought the levity she provided was a nice counter to a very dark story.

For all my qualms and discomfort, I couldn't put this one down. I was supposed to clean the bathrooms and run some errands over the weekend, but I read this instead. Oh well.
