I love this book!!! And I cant believe this is the end. This book starts off right where it left off in the last book, and takes off rapidly. This book is about Kylie finally accepting everything about herself and learning that being different isn't necessarily a bad thing. In this we finally get the answers to what we want to know. Like will she choose Lucas or Derek. How is she supposed to accomplish her quests. And will she finally defeat the bad guy. Even with everything going on in the book it still managed to make me laugh. My favorite parts involve Miranda and her pinky(always happens), and of course we have Barnett in the pharmacy incident that still makes me laugh. But this book was AMAZING!!!, and I'm going to miss all these characters. But now I have the Della novella to look forward to.
For the last book of this series I was content with how it ended. I didn't love this book like I loved the first few in the series but this book tied things up okay. They didn't completely tie things up which annoyed me but I guess hopefully we'll see some things in the spin off series.
I have to be honest though, I'm going to miss the ghost part of this series. I loved that this was about seeing ghosts more than any of the other supernaturals!

I did like this book, but honestly compared to the first four books, it was a bit of a let-down.
I think that it was just too slow for my liking, there wasn't enough going on.You'd expect some dramtic fight between Kylie and Mario, but the only time she actually interacted with Mario was near the end and even then, it was only for a few pages.

A bit of a weak start but amazing finish!
When I started the first book in this series I was a bit underwhelmed, but each book grew stronger and I have to say this is definitely on my favorites list. If you enjoy settings where groups of mythical creatures all have to figure out how to get along you'll enjoy this.

I really love this authors humor bring a young adult I found all of the sexual tension hilarious. It has a great ending but it didn't turn out how I wanted... I guess it all works out in the end.
Interesting ending to the series. I am glad we are done with Kylie Gaylen. She's interesting, but her focus on Lucas and their romance was trying. I was ready to get to plot and it was mostly a series about who would end up with whom. The fight to resolve everything was quick (as real fights usually are) but I guess I expected more stuff to happen- like for the guards to run in after or something or her need to fight or sneak her way out or her friends fight their way in. Just seemed resolved too neatly.
Review to come. I can't wait for the full (i think) novels about Della!
4.75/5. I can't bring myself to let the things that bothered me about this book outweigh the good. It was such a satisfying conclusion to the series. I was surprised by how things played out, and in a good way. Some things in this series were predictable, so I was very happy to be surprised by the ending. I feel warm and fuzzy after reading the last chapter. I'll definitely be reading the series about Della.
Wow, I remember now why I loved this series so much. This is everything I would want in a conclusion book- dramatic (but not over the top), well written and developed, and a SATISFYING ENDING.
The drama was realistic (well, as much as it can be in an urban fantasy book). The romantic tension between Kylie and Derek and Lucas was all so real. Kylie was a great main character to mellow out what could have been an angst-filled 400 pages. Her honest, thoughtful decisions made things much easier to relate and sympathize to. I never thought, oh, Kylie, you're only in this mess because of yourself. Everything that happened either made sense (for her to choose) or it was out of her control.
Which leads me to my next point: plot. Each event was important and interesting. The book flowed through slower parts to action-packed battles, and all the while the pacing was perfect. The timing between each event was perfectly spaced to allow the maximum amount of tension to build before dropping another bomb.
The ending was realistic, and the book was not dragged on or cut short. Enough of the threads were tied up to provide a solid ending, but still allow some freedom and mystery.
I only had two complaints as I was reading this book. The first is how predictable the John-being-Mario's-kid-thing was. As soon as Lucinda (the ghost) said that her evil husband was probably still running amok, I thought, wow I bet he's John. I WAS RIGHT!! I think that could have been more of a bomb (like, it could have been nuclear instead of just a grenade). The other thing is that the fight scene between Kylie, Mario, and John was not as well done as I would have like. The action wasn't well described on either part, and while I understand that we are supposed to be feeling Kylie's nerves it would have been nice if that scene had been 100x more awesome than it was.
