First of all, I'd like to thank C.C. Hunter for allowing me on her Street Team, therefore allowing me to get this ARC book. Thank-you C.C. :-)
This book was... wow. It was definitely full of emotion, that's for sure. I couldn't put it down.
Kylie has to deal with this new ghost, and this ghost is asking her to kill someone, but refuses to tell Kylie who. And, of course, Kylie has to deal with Derek and Lucas. I'm not going to tell you who she ends up with, but Kylie, Derek, and Lucas are all happy at the end of the book. So throughout this book, Kylie has to juggle multiple things, and if I was her, I would have cracked under the pressure. Also, Kylie is working on getting Chameleons recognized as another Supernatural species. And a lot of unexpected things happen too :-)
I really enjoyed reading this book. I did have a problem at the beginning with Kylie being just a little bit annoying, but she quickly came out of that annoying phase, so I was happy. This book literally had me on the edge of my seat. And, as usual, most of the chapters ended at cliffhangers, so I had that problem where I say this is the last chapter I'm reading today, but really, it wasn't. And all the other characters! I loved them all! How could I not!? And Perry--I wish I knew a guy like him, especially after what he did for Kylie in the lunch room. And then the wedding! Holiday and Burnett . And, at the end, I really enjoyed reading about what her mom experiences after the whole Mario and someone else incident.
In the end, it was just awesome.
I really admire C.C.'s writing. And I'll never forget Zac Efron showing up in Whispers at Moonrise :-). I can't wait for her next project! (Which I believe is Della's POV)
I highly recommend this series! To everyone!

It's taken me years to finally finish this series and to be honest I'm a little upset. I felt the last 30 pages were really rushed and felt really anticlimactic. I think this could of been written out better but looking at the series as a whole, it was a really great series and it's still one of my favorite series.
Can't believe the series is over! Loved how it all developed and concluded! :D

Wow... the end of an amazing series. I've really enjoyed the whole series, so it pains me to say that my rating is actually 3.5 stars.
What I Didn't Like:
I. Characters
A. Kylie
Ok, what the heck was wrong with Kylie in this book? It wasn't until I started reading this book that I realized how freaking perfect she was. I mean, she had everything single power known to supernaturals, was the perfect goody goody girl, and just happens to be a protector AND a holy warrior, which are two VERY rare things that happen to about 1 in a gazillion people and never both in one person. I mean, are you kidding me? She's even more of a natural than her other chameleon teenagers!! I was really mad that C.C. Hunter made her better than her fellow chameleons because there could've been something normal about Kylie, but NO! She has to be a one of a kind and super powerful! She could've been a little normal!!
Another thing I didn't like was that she kept on obsessing over Lucas. It's a very simple thing: Once she told Derek they were through, GO OUT WITH LUCAS YOU DUMMY!!!!!!!! She kept on debating it like, "I couldn't deal with it if he hated me!" That may have been true, but if he really loved her he wouldn't care. See my rant about Lucas for more details on my inner rage.
B. Derek
Derek really pissed me off in this book. All of the sudden he was making moves on Kylie and kissing her in a dreamscape. What the crap?? He never did that before and suddenly BAM! He starts chasing after her like a dog chasing a car. But then, once Kylie has like a 10 minute conversation with him, he completely gives up on her and says that he feels good about letting her go. Why the heck would he say that??? If he liked her as much as he said he did, he wouldn't have given up on her so quickly. And C.C. Hunter never addressed if he still could feel Kylie's emotions from far away. I mean, I know that he could only do that because he loved her, but I just wanted to make sure.
C. Lucas
Lucas pissed me off too. I was always a Kylie/Lucas fan and finding out he was engaged at the end of the last book made me SUPER mad, but I felt like their "love" wasn't real. I feel like that Lucas only went back to loving her because he got caught at the wedding ceremony. It was like longing after a toy that got taken away from you: You don't want it once you have it, but when it's gone, it's the only thing you want. Later on I was slightly mollified when he said that he canceled everything right after that ceremony, but I still thought that he only did it because he got caught. Lucas, Derek, and Kylie are stupid characters who should go get a life and find someone else to go fight over. Case closed.
II. Details
A. Kylie's Voice
Ok, did anyone else get Maximum Ride flashbacks the first time Kylie heard her voice, cause I did! The voice knew everything, yet didn't disclose any details, only giving vague hints and advice... hmm, familiar much? I felt like the author needed a way for Kylie to know things and could only think of this as a lame excuse. Why didn't she just get the ghost to tell her? That would've made a lot more sense!
B. Kylie's Dad coming back/Death Angels
The whole thing with Kylie's dad appearing to Kylie's Mom was so DUMB!!! I mean, seriously? Why hadn't he done it sooner? It didn't make any sense to me and just the fact that he was becoming a Death Angel made the whole thing seem ridiculous! And him being the new voice in her head? As if! Death Angels in general disappointed me. I thought that they were supposed to be this super powerful spirit group that protected the innocent, but no, they're just supernatural ghosts. That's so lame! C.C. Hunter made this big deal about the Death Angels being so mysterious and powerful, yet they're just regular ghosts. You cares if they're supernatural? Just because they had amazing abilities on earth doesn't mean that they're awesome in the spirit world does it?
III. Plot/Action
A. Magic Sword
Hmmm.... Where do I begin with this one? Frankly, I thought that it was stupid. There's a "slightly evil", as Miranda put it, that's following Kylie around. It drops in at unexpected moments in her life and freaks her out a lot. But, it turns out that it's Kylie's holy warrior sword and she's supposed to use it to kill Mario!! I didn't even get why she was a holy warrior in the first place, and now she gets a magic sword? On top of that, Lucas just happens to be a sword fighting expert and gets to spend extra time practicing with her to help her learn how to fight. In addition, she's learning how to fight from some freaky ghost who carries a head around. Fun right? As if!
B. Mario/John's Death and Mom Rescuing
This was a truly piece of crap scene. First, Kylie gets in with some kind of submissive wolf power thing that the author never explained. Second, her Mom is drugged and starts screaming even though she thinks its a dream, which so wouldn't happen in a dream. Third, John shows up and kills Mario, even when Kylie was supposed to kill Mario! The whole reason that she was given the sword was for that specific purpose, and she doesn't even do it! She kills John, who was never really that big a player in the beginning. Heck, we didn't even know that he was evil until the last 1/15 of the book for Pete's sake! Fourth, John kills Mario only because he says that he wants Kylie and her mom to do what he says. Why does he even care? He has plenty of other chameleons, like the guards outside, and he said that he hated Kylie's mom and called her a fool. That doesn't sound like something you want to keep, does it?
C. Romance
The romance in this book was cheesy, sounded staged, and there was a naked scene, which was also in another one of the books. You don't need to naked scenes in a series for teens, just saying.
What I Liked:
Holiday and Burnett, Miranda and Perry, and Della and Steve
Yup, all I liked was the pairings. Holiday and Burnett were so cute together and I loved reading about their wedding.
That's all I liked. Now that I see how much they contrast lengthwise, I think I'm going to lower my rating to 2 stars and make it a 1.5 rating actually. Later.

The final book in this series! Kylie know what she is now she wants to use that knowledge to help other people like her.
Finally we have reached the end of this series.
There were times when I butted heads with this series. I thought it played to certain tropes and I didn’t always agree with the main character.
Overall I did enjoy this series. This was my guilty pleasure read. I did find myself laughing a lot more in this book than I did in any of the others. The conversation Kylie and Holiday had about condoms was absolutely hilarious.
I did think we saw a lot of character growth in almost every character. I absolutely adored Della, Burnett, and Holiday.
I am going to give this book a C. Mostly because I finished this book a week ago and I can’t remember how she defeated the bad guy.
But I can’t deny this was the perfect series to get me out of my slump. Now no to more books!

The fifth and final novel in the Shadow Falls series. As things begin to unwind, Kylie Galen must finally set things straight with Mario, a vampire who is after her. After leaving to live with her real grandfather, things take a bit of a turn and she has to flee to become safe. On top of this, she must deal with the normal things a teen must deal with, boys, friends, and unruly parents. This novel ended somewhat cheesy, and things still felt a little up in the air. Kylie finally figured out what she is, and has come to accept and learn to live with it, even if it's a daunting task. The plot was good, and the characters acted as normal teenagers would. The adult characters seem to act like teenagers at points throughout the novel, which was a little frustrating to read. Yes every teen feels like their parent are being unfair, but in this novel, they seemed very unreasonable. Otherwise things just ended, it felt like to just end things so that this series wouldn’t go on forever. Overall, an interesting series, filled with lots of supernaturals, and a lot of teen drama.
