So this was a great book! I loved the series, but I'm a little disappointed. I felt like there should have been more, more of the book, more of the emotional drama, more of Lucas, more of Kylie. I just wanted more. I feel like Ms. Hunter constrained herself with only a 399 page ending to a five book series. In addition, I felt like the climax, wasn't very "climaxy". It was over too fast and I felt there wasn't enough of a struggle and power show on Kylie's part. This was supposed to be this huge fight and it fell short for me. Despite it's flaws, it's a lovely and captivating story.

I miss the shadow falls series! I want another book!

OMG that was such a good book... EVERYTHING WORKS OUT IN THE END!!!
I can't wait until the new series with Della!! Whooooo!!

Finishing a book is always bittersweet, and same goes for finishing a series, only the bitter and the sweet are both amplified by 1000.

Following Kylie through her journey from starting off as just a normal high school student joining a camp all the way to where she is now, is just incredible. I'll miss Kylie, Miranda, Della, Derek, Lucas, and the rest of the gang. I don't think I've ever found a series I liked more with so many memorable characters. C. C. Hunter did a great job on the series, and I'll miss discovering Kylie Galen's new adventures. I almost wish there were another book in the series, but I think it's best it ended here.

A nice ending to the series, I enjoyed reading it. :)

I have to say that this is probably the worst last book in a series that I have ever read. Actually I think, if I had known, I would never have read the series. I think Hunter had a good idea for a series. I always like paranormal books about all the different species, but I still think the setting for this series was very weak. Perhaps if she had started with a boarding school setting, I would have bought into it more. I did like the characters and some of the interactions between the characters was entertaining. Especially with this last book, it was unclear if Hunter wanted to write a paranormal story with some elements of adventure, romance, mystery or did she want to write a sappy teenage angsty weak romance that had paranormal elements. I think the series would have been much better if the paranormal stuff had had a little more weight in the telling.

Unfortunately, I would say that if you have a choice to read this series or another paranormal series (adult or YA), I would recommend you choose a different series. There are great ones out there.

There's something wrong when you can skip an entire book in a series and it doesn't matter.

2nd time reading
This is such a fun series! I love the characters and the different kinds of supernaturals. Kylie is sweet and tries to help everyone she meets. Sometimes she's too nice, especially to people who treat her badly. Her friends Miranda and Della are great besties and sometimes they say the meaner things that Kylie won't. Her relationship with Lucas is complicated, but they're great together and both love each other.
The finale is well done and we get a lot of answers to questions and finally get the showdown between Kylie and Mario. The audiobooks are fun to listen to and the narrator really embodies Kylie.
