I sped through this pretty fast. It was entertaining and I enjoyed the characters. Sadly, this book suffers greatly from bad editing. There were paragraphs that were nearly incomprehensible due to grammar mistakes and repeating lines of the same dialogue, as well as continuity issues. It was disappointing, because were it not for the editing issues I would have rated this much higher.

(4.5) Such a cute, fun read. The audiobook was fabulous. Definitely an unputdownable one for me! The characters were likeable and the plot was interesting. The world building was great and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I almost wish I hadn’t found this book until closer to the release of the 2nd so I don’t have to wait!

Several instances of words missing from sentences and one instance of 2 sentences being repeated, right after each other, in error. That bothered me a lot. Story was decent, good character development. Ending wrapped up a little quickly. Still deciding if I'll read the next one due to the grammatical errors.

This one was forgettable compared to Harper's other books. I am still gonna read the next one because I think it can only go up from here.

3.5 Stars. Felt kinda Hogwarts but Victorian era. But it was still a good book. Kinda steampunk, kinda historical fiction. I'll read the follow-up.

What an unexpected and lovely surprise! Harry Potter and Bridgerton had a baby and it is written by Molly Harper. Can’t wait to start the next one.

3.5 rounded up

The story felt a lot like a HP fanfiction, with a bit of the scholomance vibes. And for some reasons ai kept thinking about the Selection while listening.

It was nice to listen to, but I'm not sure I'd want to read or listen to the following books. It work well as a standalone.

Molly Harper has long been a favorite of mine. This new world she's created is brilliant and fun, with all of the wit and lovely character building I've come to know and love from her. I can't wait for the next installment of this YA series.
