Took me a while to get into this format, but was such a charming memoir!
Felt like we really got to know the different people who work in the bookshop, as well as some of the regular visitors. Was really interesting to understand the what goes into the background of book selling

Put a smile on my face :)

Length: 9 hours, 41 minutes - It went quickly but felt longer.

Narrator: Robin Laing - Fine.

Shelves: Series (New), FAH Reading Challenge (Diary)

Met Expectations - This book had some funny moments, but the writer / bookstore owner sounds like a jerk and I wouldn't like to meet him.

Why did I make myself read this?

My partner and I were going on a trip to Scotland and as per my request, we spent a day in Wigtown. I bought this book for the trip to really feel the community. I have to say, reading this in conjunction with my visit was a great choice. While reading, I could easily picture and recall the store and areas Shaun describes in this diary. I did find it slow and repetitive, but I enjoyed Shaun's bluntness and insights. I purchased the other two while I was there and will likely pick up any further ones he publishes.
