Ölümsüz Aile meğer çocuk kitapları klasiklerinden biriymiş ama ben adını bile duymamıştım! Tamamen bir kitap siparişime hediye olarak eklenmesiyle tanıştım kendisiyle (hayat bazen güzel sürprizler getirebiliyor gerçekten). “Ölümsüz” kelimesini görünce salak kafam hemen vampirlere gitti tabii (bknz. Cullen Ailesi) ama 1975 yılında yazıldığını, çocuklar için yazıldığını görünce “bir dur Simay; gaza gelme hemen” dedim kendi kendime. Nitekim hikâye de zaten 1880’li yıllarda geçiyormuş. E şimdi “böyle bir ortamda vampir olamaz mıydı yani?” diye soracaksınız – olabilirdi tabii ama iyi ki yok çünkü kitap bu haliyle gerçekle büyünün şahane bir birleşimi olmuş.
Baştan şunu da söyleyeyim; çocuk konusu hassas olduğu için bu yazıyı yazmadan önce iyice araştırdım: bu kitap küçük çocuklara değil, ortaokul ve üstü yaşlara öneriliyor. Sonra da düşündüm de ben de Ölümsüz Aile kitabını ilkokul yaşlarında okusaydım kesin beynim yanardı! “Ölümsüz olmak ister miydim istemez miydim?” diye düşünüp durur, daha hızlı delirirdim kesin.

I like the storyline, but it wasn't put together well, so I found it rather boring. It was easier to catch on as I got further in the book, but the beginning was rather confusing
Every December, I dust off this classic and let it weave its magic once more. This childhood gem is a gentle reminder of my appreciation for the life I've been given. With each reread, I'm struck by its timeless wisdom, and it never fails to leave me feeling grateful and ready to embrace the year ahead with open arms.

Believe it or not - I didn't like this one the first time I read it (which was as an adult). A few more reads let me see the beautiful efficiency of this story. So short and simple to contain such depth.

I read this book in elementary school and I am now in college. It was an awesome book and probably the first fantasy/supernatural book I have ever read. So cute and amazing.
This book was short and sweet. I enjoyed the writing, but the plot was a little too simple for my taste. The being made me very satisfied and the book was ten times different than the movie
