I received an eARC courtesy of Atheneum/Caitlyn Dlouhy Books & NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Sometimes you read a book that just shakes you to your core & this is it. I wasn't sure how this book would translate to the graphic format, but wow. Just wow. The watercolor style is gorgeous and everything about this moved me. I am left feeling emotionally devastated. This book is needed.

Beautiful watercolours, heartbreaking story. I didn't realise it was an adaptation before reading, so I can't speak to how successful it is in that regard, but I loved the read.

First of all, I think this book is an absolute must-read if the topic is not too difficult for you to get through. I am not sure how different the graphic novel is to the original text, but - while I found the art to be very emotive - I think I would have connected more with it had I read the original, hence the 4.25/5 stars.
