… I guess the title makes sense now?
First things first, I liked the first half of the book; the storyline, including the Twilight Kingdom, was nice.
The latter part had its ups and downs - some things I enjoyed, some not so much. I’m a sucker for betrayals, so I definitely enjoyed that part.
The ending, though... I don’t know. It’s really confusing to me - brave, but confusing.

Oh, loved reading this book, all the developments, and I need to read more now!
Still like Vi. I feel like she is developing at a good pace. The twilight kingdom was very interesting and the hatred between them and the light spinners is completely believed able. I enjoyed the new character we meet and the adventure is still fun.
Taavin really disappointed me. I do not feel their "love". It's to rushed for me, but his betrayal is unbelievable. I am glad he ended up sacrificing himself. It's the only way he could be redeemed.
Also are we just not going to talk about the whole "who are your real parents" thing? I kept waiting for her to mention it to her dad, but nothing.
I enjoyed the ending. With Taavin no longer in the picture, the next book has a chance of getting a 4 start rating.

They were two mortals, playing at godhood.
Taavin and Vi do some more travelling in their journey to save the world.
VI has gotten better and better every book, whereas Taavin was great last book and annoyed me in this one. We get to see Aldrik again and I've greatly missed him.
And here I thought that I would be able to go on a nice adventure with Elise Kova and her characters and not experience anything that would leave me biting my nails for the next few months.
And then I read that ending.
Firstly, I have to say that this was a highly rewarding book for anyone who's a fan of Kova's work and the AIR AWAKENS universe. It has all the character drama, romance, exciting characters, and magic that fantasy lovers could ask for. I loved how quickly the story swept me in, and have always enjoyed Vi as a character. She is someone I would love to have adventures with. Side characters like Taavin and my new favourite, Arwin, were layered and complex and added plenty of drama Vi's missions. I truly adore these characters and can't wait to see more of them.
The core of the story was filled with magic and betrayal and heartache. The level of detail and lore Kova adds to her work is amazing. And the ending... the ending was something I never saw coming and I am biting my nails for the next book. It can't come soon enough!

Hmmm. 3,5 stars maybe?
I'm not sure what is happening, but I find this series getting less awesome with every book.
I don't know who to root for anymore and the plot is extremely confusing...
