Thought provoking but still light-hearted & funny!

Sunny Song is amazing in all her awkward glory & very relatable (at least to me). Can't wait to read more from Suzanne Park.

Had two issues with the book:

1. The tone felt too young for YA. Felt more MG.

2. For a book about social media, the MC didn’t authentically feel like a social media influencer. The talk about social media just didn’t feel properly researched.

This book is adorable. I loved Sunny, plus the camp set-up was quite lovely. I really enjoyed this book. It had some insights about how social media sucks but it's so ingrained in our lives and how finding a balance is important.

This book was a great read. I loved it and really recommend it.

Sunny Song Will Never Be Famous is about a social media obsessed girl who gets sent away to a digital detox camp.

Her entire summer at Sunshine Farms felt like a few days. There was more relationship drama than sneaking phones and filming where she shouldn’t have been. For example, they filmed an entire parody music video and had it edited in the length of a passing conversation but pages of why won’t this boy she likes go out with her. I would have assumed filming an “illegal” video at a digital detox camp would have cause some panic and coordination that you never find out about.

The story in general was predictable and sometimes sounded like it was preaching the bad influences of social media, which I thought was funny because I won this book from the author off of Instagram.

It’s the classic story of not knowing what is in front of you until you step back and realize what life is really all about. It’s not about the superficial, instead it’s about the relationships you have with those around you.

3.5* a super cute, quick and easy read that oddly gave me hannah montana movie vibes which, of course, I was 100% there for.

2.5 stars ⭐️ nothing special, and the interactions between the 2 characters were cute, but it was a quick read and kind of a slow burn.

This one is a puzzle. Sunny's character reads much younger than high school, except for the implied physical aspects of her relationship with Theo. Everything is just a little flat, things happen too conveniently, side characters are underdeveloped, and there is a lot of showing instead of telling. Not my favorite, but perfectly sweet.
