Wow! This one had me up into the wee hours of the morning wanting to finish but having to sleep – first thing I did this morning was continue on to the end…Just…WOW! What a marvelous story!
The prologue was hard to read but explained Trapper’s horrific childhood to a T. The first meeting of Brea and Trapper was perfect and oh so HOT! The week they were away from each other after that meeting built to a gradual head and an interaction that blew me away. There was a lot for both Trapper and Brea to process and deal with as the book progressed and it was all tied up neatly with a big sparkly bow. I don’t want to give away the story but will say I recommended this book to my siblings and will recommend it to all of you who like well written hot steamy romances with strong male and female lead characters.
Thank you to NetGalley and Book Enthusiast Promotions for the copy of this book to read and review.

3 stars. Quickie review: This was only okay for me. I found the story a little overdramatic and I didn't believe the love between Trapper and Brea. I also found it a little too dark, but it seemed like that was just for shock value. Both characters acted a little immature at times. I didn't like Trapper's name or the way he spoke about women ("fresh c*nt" or "old c*nt"). The story was okay and interesting at times, but the writing was not great, for me.

Wild Aces is raw and gritty and you'll be hooked from prologue to epilogue. There's abuse, mystery, betrayal, friendship and love. Marni Mann did a brilliant job of writing characters that pull you in and don't let you go.
Brea's looking for a second chance at love and life, while Trapper's looking for calm and a light in the darkness in his life. Nothing about their relationship is normal but you can still see how well they fit together. Then there is Brea's best friend Frankie and her husband Derek. I have not read there story yet but reading about them in Wild Aces has me intrigued enough to purchase their book to read their journey.

Wow!!
This was a Wow book. It blew me away. It was the perfect mix of heat, emotion and mystery. The mystery kept me reading, the heat kept me fanning myself and the emotion had me stopping every now and then to catch my breath. Marni did an amazing job at writing a story about a really hard subject.
I was immediately invested in Trapper and Brea. They are two characters who damaged and broken. What seemed like just two people looking to be each other's salvation became so much more. I loved the twists and turns that this story went through.
It's a beautiful story that will take you on a roller coaster of emotions but leaves your heart warm.

This is the second book I've read from this author.
She's good. Especially when it comes to the main characters' sexual chemistry and keeping readers hooked,
that is, until you realize the story never reaches its true climax...
I feel like this book needed more...
Not that it was short, just not assembled right.
As a reader, I was left satisfied.
The story moved too quickly, like the author was trying to finish it because someone was banging on her door and demanding that she answered it.

When I finished Marni Mann’s Unblocked Collection, I had this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. It felt like moving away from your best friends—their lives keep going on, but you drift apart and you no longer know what they’ve been up to. Marni Mann has gifted fans with a mini reunion in Wild Aces, but it is a standalone that can easily be enjoyed without reading the other books.
The story revolves around Brea, Frankie’s savvy colleague and best friend. Brea and Trapper—a professional poker player—meet at Frankie and Derek’s masquerade party, and they fall deeply in lust without seeing each other’s faces. In this beauty-focused society, imagine just being attracted to someone because of their voice and personality. That’s so hot!
Brea and Trapper only get to speak briefly at the party and know very little about each other, but they continue their flirtation over über steamy phone sex. Brea also starts sexting him almost immediately. Like seriously dirty sexting. This is my main issue with the book. How does a woman trust a virtual stranger enough to feel comfortable sexting that man and sending intimate photos of herself? It seemed unrealistic to me.
The first quarter of the book is filled with lots of sexual anticipation and naughty deeds between the two, but they don’t take enough time to get to know each other. In between the sexy times, though, an extremely intriguing plot unfolds. Brea and Trapper both have demons from their past they are battling, and the subtle tension as revelations are made is well executed. The detailed layers of their individually fascinating history are peeled back at a gratifying pace. As Trapper and Brea learn more about each other, their relationship becomes more realistic and it’s clear they are perfect together. They’re survivors, and I couldn’t help but feel compassion for them – particularly Trapper. However, Trapper is hiding something dark that could potentially destroy their relationship.
Wild Aces is a perfect combination of a mystery wrapped in an erotic romance. You’d better hold on tight because there are plot twists galore. Marni Mann has delivered an enticing, emotional, and original story, with a healthy dose of steam mixed throughout. Frankie and Derek returning to play vital roles in the story is just icing on an already enjoyable cake. Well done.

Marni Mann writes an emotional story that takes the reader on a journey with Brea and Trapper. Trapper is a man full of secrets, he also happens to be a world class poker player. Brea is getting ready to celebrate the two year anniversary of her boyfriend's death. Trapper and Brea met at her best friends masquerade party. Can you fall in love with a person when you have never seen their face? Read Mann's Wild Aces and you will find out.

If that prologue doesn't just grab you and make you love Trapper from there you are dead inside. HOLY HELL!
Ok so we get Brea's story which we loved her in Unblocked or at least I did. Plus we get a bit of Frankie and a small amount of Derek.
The twists and turns were just what I expected from Marni. You can never go into her books with a one way street of mind. Because she will fuck that shit up.
Of course the narrators were amazing, two of my favorites.
