A Slow fire burning, indeed! I love the way Paula Hawkins tells a story. She takes her time with the plot, the characters and their development.  She even pokes fun a bit in this story about how authors in classic thriller stories, go back and forth between the past and the present.  “Get on with it”-Irene. Some may think there’s too many characters in this story and hard to keep up but I quite enjoyed it.  And its kept me guessing on who indeed killed Daniel. I listened to the audiobook and really really enjoyed the narration by Rosamund Pike.  Great way to start my books off for the month of November!

The many points of view made this book interesting, although I found the plot itself to be very simple/straightforward at the end of the day. I also weirdly didn’t really care about solving the murder or who did it, possibly because the victim wasn’t compelling or painted in a very kind light. I feel like a horrible person! Going to self-evaluate now.

A very good summer holiday read. Could hardly put it down at times! Good ending although it still leaves you with some questions, but maybe in a good way where it’s up to you to interpret what really happened.

Not a fan of the jumping POVs, found the characters to not be likeable at all. Overall a disappointing book.
