The last third of the book is: "drama, Drama, DRAMA!"
Almost unbelievably dramatic events happen in a few chapters, piled onto the most dramatic unveiled mystery of the whole story.
Totally called it..the Hufflepuff ensnared and tamed the Slytherin...because Hufflepuffs are awesome that way of "you don't expect ___but then____" meaning badgers don't back down from snakes, or lions...or lil'birds

The mystery was cute and well interwoven for the leads and it made good conflict internally and for the characters.
What is it with the side characters in this series having a dickhead boyfriend in every book??? It's getting a bit old.

What fun!
This was an unexpected delight. I think I found this book via Instagram and the blurb, highlighting “Austen” and something about short ice blonde hair Malfoy caught my attention. I adored Freddy. And Griff, Charlie and Sabrina. The story behind the story was beautifully done, and I found myself captivated and laughing throughput the story.

I checked out more books than I knew I would read in advance of working at Romance GenreCon and I feel guilty returning them unread, so I am trying to sample all of them. I was determined to return this one unfinished, but I seem to have finished it. The overall writing was not that good, but something about it must have been good enough to finish. The sex scenes were not ridiculous marathons, but seemed fairly realistic. I usually skip them because they are over the top and quite lengthy.
Lucy Parker is such a find. From her fresh style and realistic characters - she is a hit with me. I have loved all four of the books in this series so far and can't wait to read #5. It is heavily seeded in this one, so I wouldn't recommend reading #5 without reading this one. This doesn't require reading 1, 2, or 3 although one of the characters in 3 makes a showing here. Anyway- the two main characters in this one are so clearly shown with their weaknesses and strengths that rooting for them to get together and stay together is so much fun. This book probably has the best non-romance plot that feels a bit complicated as the author is laying the foundation, but comes full circle in the end. These are modern, honest stories by this author and I love that they revolve around show business which I know absolutely nothing about!
Loved every West-End-inspired minute of this romance where the grumpy critic and the idealistic sweetheart fall fast. It’s not *exactly* Elizabeth and Darcy, but it’s close.
