My review of the first book, Flawed, can be found here.
I thoroughly enjoyed Flawed, but Perfect left something to be desired. It just felt like, for much of the book, not a whole lot happened. It almost seems like it could have been one book instead of two. Just gut the majority of Perfect and attach it to the end of Flawed and it would have been a single strong book instead of a decent book followed up by a mediocre book.
I'm not sure that I enjoyed the relationship between Carrick and Celestine. It just didn't feel legitimate. I think there was too much insta-love between them with no real foundation for how far they'd go for one another.
Perfect wasn't a bad book. It just wasn't as good as Flawed. It did end the series rather well, wrapping everything up nicely.

I loved the plot, the suspense, the twist, and turns. It's about believing in oneself and to take a stand for what is right, no matter the consequences and people's defining you for it(Either in a positive or negative sense.) Usually, I don't like romantic touches much in the novels except William and Phillipa's love story in "Jeffery Archer's Old Love" but after seeing "Celestine" and "Carrick" they are my second favorite couple. The moment both share in the Branding Chamber is quite intense and painful at the same time.
This novel depicts the infiniteness of mother's love and the strength she imparts(They love unconditionally), the importance of trusted ones around you and how hard is it to find them, how the worst of your life could make you the "Perfect"(just like Celestine North) or could even make you a mess or confused (just like Art).
To be succinct, it's all "Compassion and Logic." ;)
It's indeed a good read and worth the time.

I’m always hesitant to say a book isn’t good, but I genuinely think this one isn’t. I decided to read this during a reading slump. I was thinking of an fast paced YA book might help and remembered I never finished this duology. While I remembered the basic plot of the first, it’s been a few years since I read the first, so while I can’t remember all the details if it was anything like the second book I can now remember why I never finished the series. This book was all over the place. Very little felt joined together. There is too much happening, most of which feels irrelevant or isn’t fleshed out enough. This book needed much, much better editing. I read this quickly so I didn’t mind finishing, but honestly if you’re looking for a dystopian series skip this one. There much better ones out there in my opinion.

I've never brought a book as swiftly from the bookstore as I did this one. 6hours after checking it out from the library and 10 minutes after I finished reading it, I knew I had to possess my own copy. The previous book came up with a concept which totally disgusted me and I was angry at the whole base that I refused to read the sequel thinking it would be just as flawed as the first. But I guess Ahern stays close to the titles, this book was infact perfect.
Celestine's character development is amazing and this book doesn't gloss over the captures, escapes, being on the run. The inventors build the games, Celestine owns the puzzle and shows how it is played which is exactly the trait I appreciated in June or Tris or Katniss. And thankfully the insta-love Delirium act wasn't pulled over here and there were lots of patters shown and it was beautiful to see the building of trust and rapport with everyone Celestine connected with.
While I do not completely approve of Enya's political campaign , it was good to see Sanchez and Crevan's faces brought to light. Book 1 hinted a beginning of revolution but this book just packed both Catching Fire and Mockingjay into one. And seeing as how breaking the systems are the way, looking around us, I figure we are already living in a dystopia , that is. And maybe this could be the spark for us to take back what we deserve.
I right now am just gazing at the snowglobe and tasting freshly picked strawerries. And though my life might not have a proper direction right now, Celestine North might well have been the north star I was looking for. There's the person you think you should be and there's the person you really are. At the beginning of this book I had lost sight of them both. And I'm still not sure who I should be, but I now know who I am. And that, as Celestine says, might be the perfect place to start again. And maybe this time, I will win. We will.
