Face!
When Kristoff says pain he means it. Soul destroying agony. However, what a read! I was nervous that it wouldnโt compare to book 1 but, oh, how wrong I was.
Yet again, a masterclass in writing. Exquisite, dark, gory, brutal, emotional โ all of those things and more. This is a book that I slept next to, a book that I hugged, a book that I cried into; and also one that had me belly laughing, and grinning like an idiot. Basically, this book kind of became a friend, and Iโm really going to miss it. Books like these donโt come around often, so I urge you to take your time and cherish it. I would give anything to read it for the first time again already.
My full review on the series will be out once Iโve read book 3 (probably in 2030 by the time weโve all recovered) but I reiterate what I said last time: MASTERPIECE. Go read them!

I struggled with the pacing through a good portion of this book, but there were still a lot of great moments and worldbuilding. And that ending? Insanity. We need the next book ASAP.

Gabriel is such a great character. Real but flawed.
Dior is such a great counterpart for him. Keeping him real and letting his flaws be what they are.

Vampires everywhere: the sequel. Does. Not. Disappoint. I loved it. A lot. Intrigue. Mystery. Adventure. Yes. Thereโs gonna be another one, right? Has to be.
Aiiiiiiiieeeeee this was so sad and great and scary and exciting and beautiful. 4.5/5 Stars. I thought that the pacing leading up to the moons throne/ in the Dyvok fortress may have dragged wee bit but near the end I couldn't stop reading it was so good. Having that piece of the prophesy click into place was magnifique. The two storytellers and their sassy lil' chronicler have excellent banter and squabbling. Both of the guys bonding over finding Celene loathsome and her telling them to just get it over with and kiss... I squealed with happiness. OMG the reveal at the end!!! AHHHH!
