This book was OK....not as good as Master of the Mountain IMO...I thought Logan & Rebecca were more likeable than Jake & Kallie...I did enjoy the suspense part of it though & I didn't guess the baddie which is always good. There were some very hot scene's but like I said I wasn't as big a fan of the H/h.

Another excellent read from Cherise Sinclair.

Jake is a dominant who is scarred -- in face and especially in soul. His submissive killed herself when he could not continue to have her as his 24/7 slave. Kallie has deep scars in her life from being rejected by family. She hides her vulnerabilities under toughness and competence and a fierce willingness to fight. And she hides her femininity under utilitarian clothes (which makes sense to wear as a trail guide near Yosemite).

A predictable, but excellently written, BDSM romance follows. Spiced up by a serial killer on the loose.

Definitely recommended.

I loved this book. Jake, a character from the previous books, finally got to overcome his issues and to meet a girl worthy of him, and boy was she worthy of him. Their chemistry was sizzling, their dialogue was spot-on and their encounters heated the blood. And her overprotective cousins weren't bad characters either. Yum.

I love a tastefully written, hot and passionate book with a story that has some grit to it. Cherise Sinclair is the master of this kind of writing. Always a strong, alpha dom, a matching heroine, but what I find the most intriguing is her stories and how they get to where they are. This one lets us get to know Jake Hunt. We first met him in Logan's story, and now we get to hear his. He is a man, not interested in a relationship after a woman he uncollared committed suicide. Kallie is a a wilderness guide with the Masterson family, trying to learn her place in life. Now in the eye of Jake, her longtime crush, things heat up. We learn a lot about Jake, his past and how it effected then, now and how Kallie learns to help him through. With her own demons, this story has a little of everything, including the steamy erotica Sinclair is known for.

Narrated by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross, you will love this story. Their chemistry flows through the story as we hear Kallie and Jake's relationship grow. I love their performances and look forward to the next in the series.

I really enjoy this series. Funny/sexy/hot and with real women with realistic problems. I love jake he's a great brother with a sexy body and huge heart. I really didn't know the bad guy was till the end. That doesn't happen to me very often.

While I enjoyed the first book in this series, I loved this one.

There’s a Serious element, a violent man on the loose killing women. And that was creepy, and pretty well done, but not what I was reading this for, nor what I remember of the book.

Kallie is tough, and Jake pushes at her. Their romance is sweet and I loved reading it. Jake sees her in new ways, and he pushes her to see herself as well. Jake’s also trying to get over a previous bad experience, and Kallie helps him with that.

The sex, the romance—it was all fantastic, of course. And I will be re-reading the book for those things.

But the main part that stood out to me, and the scene that made me cry, was between Kallie and her cousins. Kallie, orphaned, had been passed around between family members, and with no explanation, led to think that no one wanted her. She had to be careful, or the man and his sons who kept her might throw her out. Jake sees it differently, sees the way the men really care for her. And he makes her see it, as well as showing the guys that she doesn’t. It was so sweet and heartbreaking, and it makes me want to cry just remembering it.

I loved this book. It’s one I will be keeping on my phone and re-reading, and I look forward to reading more.

Cherise Sinclair did it again. Great story, suspense, family and romance all tied together in a HOT SEXY bow.

I wish she would write a short instruction manual for could-be Doms. I'd love to give it to my husband. ;-)
