I have read a previous book form this author and I really enjoy her writing and the atmosphere that she creates in her stories when after months of reading the story I still remember the setting and how it made me feel. I really enjoyed this genre bending novel with LGBTQ components to it that was done very well. This novel questions what it means to remember, what family means and what if different history happened and how would that change people’s lives. Very interesting components that would be good for discussion with other readers. Really enjoyed this journey and I will be reading more of her books for sure.

I thought a book about alternative histories of colonialism and slavery might have something to say about slavery?
Time travel, deep deep love, and alternate realities. Beautifully written, characters with wonderful depth and brokenness and hope. Vivid portrayal of war and its monstrous repercussions. I love everything Natasha Pulley writes - because her books are both clever and have huge heart.
