this book made me ABSOLUTELY feral this was some next level star-crossed slow burn bullshit!! Amazing!!! Emotionally devastating!!! A lovely ending!!! 4.5/5 because i ended up spending a good hour on wikipedia looking up details about the napoleonic wars and 18th century naval warfare >:(

I can’t say this was my favorite book ever, but it had its good parts. I had a hard time following all of the jumps in time which made it harder for me to understand the whole story. Maybe someday I’ll reread it and understand better.

A HAPPY ENDING FOR A GAY COUPLE! That’s was my main take away haha. Really good tense emotional end. Good twist and mystery. The timelines and navy going’s-on sometimes confused me but I got the gist haha.
