SPOILERS AHEAD

Henley might just be the WORST female character ever... she does not deserve Brooks at all fuck I wish he found someone else and got married to them. Henley was toxic, selfish and the most self-sabotaging girl ever, she did not redeem herself whatsoever. Where was the groveling? Brooks was her literal doormat, he kept taking her back as if one measly sorry and a few months apart is enough to change her. JAHJHDSIJAKD I HATE HER!!!!!!! And then as if that wasn't enough Brooks tries to take the blame for their relationship not going anywhere on him??? BROOKS BABY you gave her multiple opportunities to leave with you and explore the world together to find her happiness and what did she do? she threw those chances in your pretty face.

Her whole reasoning for her breaking it off with Brooks is past trauma from her parents fighting and not wanting to follow their pattern, and be tied down to or dependant on Brooks, yet as soon as she tells him to go she dates other guys still????? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE YOU ABSOLUTE NUMPTY...

I don't usually let books anger me, it's fiction at the end of the day but whewww chile this one had my blood boiling differently still lmao.

Brooks and Henley have a special friendship that was formed years ago. Henley comes from a family full of hatred, anger, and a constant battle over which parent loves her more. She suffers alone most of the time until Brooks shows up and weasels his way into her life. They become friends not easily as it’s hard for Henley to put her trust and faith in others, but when she does, she is committed to it 100%. Brooks would do anything for his Henley, and he proves that repeatedly even when Henley fights it. Its always the wrong time or the wrong place for these two and at times it gets aggravating, but it ends beautifully. Henley is always wrapped up in her own head thinking she doesn’t deserve to be loved or can love anyone else even though she knows Brooks is it for her she just can’t let her own hurt go long enough to fight for him. She was frustrating with all the back and forth, but her mother was a real piece of crazy that I wanted to smack around. Brooks was easy to love and fall for. All he ever wanted was for Henley to be his but sometimes fate and life have other plans that take you the long way around until giving you what you want or need. A great read with real emotions that the authors make you feel and want to live through with the characters.

Emotionally worn out

HJ does it again, so much self inflicted torture reading their books but you can’t stop because it’s just that good. This story truly had me torn up in a way I haven’t been since I read Archer which is still hands down my favorite. Such an amazing story, you can’t help but to fall for Henley and Brooks and hoping and praying they make it. It’s ugly, it’s angry, it’s heartbreaking and oh so beautiful.

What a rollercoaster that was! Definitely 5 stars from me !
I can’t even count how many times I cried.
Let me start with the fact that I’m a sucker for this trope, and this book made it to my top 3

Ugh. I really wanted to love this AND I DID... until 40% ish?

It’s a beautiful story in theory, best friends finding their way from best friends to lovers but then enemies then lovers then repeat that 5 times.

It annoyed me. I would’ve loved a novella of just them falling in love through high school. I understand it would’ve been harder to write but the back and forth was so frustrating i couldn’t LOSE myself in the book and that’s even more frustrating.

“Bottled-up feelings are like Mentos in Diet Coke.”

Angst. Rollercoaster. A rollercoaster of angst. Yeah, that’s pretty much all that I have to say about this book. If you like second chance romance between best friends, taken to the 90th level, then you’ll love For Keeps. For Always.
