just like we were liars, this book was utterly confusing (but good?).
there was a whole mystery aspect with this book, and although i really enjoyed the action and the flashbacks, i will admit i got lost once or twice throughout the book, even if i bookmarked my page at the end of a chapter, i would have to reread the book to remember the context.
speaking of context, i felt like i got none throughout the book, which seems like lockhart's trademark, since it all resolves in the end. but still, i would still like to know why the MC is coming to a realization to something that was never mentioned.
i did enjoy the stories and flashbacks however, but if you don't like gore, don't read it. it kinda goes into detail.

Thats the thing

THIS BOOK WAS TERRIBLE AND DISTURBING, not terribly disturbing, just terrible and disturbing. I honestly would not recommend this book. I loved “We were Liars” so much but this one was just no it. I liked the writing style and the way the chapters were out of order, but the mystery and suspense just wasn’t there!! I wish I could say more, but honestly this book was one of the worst I’ve read this year. It was so short, but so hard for me to get through!

This was good, but it wasn't amazing. It was really frustrating at times.
Don't get me wrong, the plot was really good and the story was well executed... except for the ending, I hated the ending and I think there was something missing to it.
Anyways, this is a book you need to read, not because it's the best but because it's something different.

I liked how the story went backwards in time and revealed as to why Jule did what she did. But altogether I felt like the story didn't go anywhere except explain Jule's slight character development as the beginning and the end chapters consisted of Jule running away followed by more running away in the middle.
