Full RTC. There was a lot of this I liked, but there were some serious pacing issues and one too many HP references.

You’ve got to admit, you pick up a ton of new words just from reading Alexis Hall.

Het plot is flinterdun en de homofobie… wordt wel erg snel overheen gepraat. En de houding naar het vegetariër-zijn is wel heel 2009. Maarrrr ik moest er hardop om lachen. Dus
I think I just hated the main character! He’s super whiney and idk the third act breakup was rushed and stupid. Not my favorite :(
I wanted to like this book so bad, but by the middle the only thing i wanted was for Boyfriend Material to be over.
i’ll give you the short of it:
- forgettable secondary characters i couldn’t remember while reading
- insufferable main character
- the premise of their fake dating?? had no realistic stakes at all.
- the conflicts were super rushed, and cliche
- felt like a trope sandwich, like how many romance tropes can i fit into this one book? other than that there was little effort put in to even making the tropes believable
- humor was super rough
- there were points in this book that i had to set it down bc i needed a break. (sex scene especially comes to mind… YEESH.)
hate to be a hater but this book made it hard to be a lover. or even indifferent for that matter

Cute, if predictable. Better than average banter.
